"Health and human rights in eastern Myanmar prior to political transition: a population based assessment using multistage household cluster sampling" 

This International Health and Human Rights Journal article, by CPI partners, staff and advisors, demonstrates that populations in eastern Myanmar experienced high rates of disease and death, and high rates of human rights violations prior to historic elections in November 2010. Since that time, Myanmar has received markedly increased development and humanitarian assistance. This survey provides accurate, peer-reviewed data of pre-election conditions which can be used to monitor national and international efforts to improve the current health and human rights situation in the region.
