Village Health Workers

The Village Health Worker program is an integral part of building local capacity to deliver high-quality, cost effective health services. Reaching more than 60,000 villagers in eastern Myanmar, CPI-supported community health workers manage a malaria control program that decreased malaria as much as 80% in some villages, as well as programs that provide: Clean births and emergency obstetric care; vaccinations and Vitamin A distribution; and, community education, diagnosis and treatment for malnutrition and infectious disease.
