Alive & Kicking 2014: The Yangon Marathon

January 19, 2014

We did it!! On January 19, 2014, 13 members of Team CPI participated in the Yangon International Marathon to raise money for vital maternal, neonatal and child health services in remote, underserved and conflict-affected regions of Myanmar. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Team CPI raised $19,000 AND officially launched CPI's 'Alive & Kicking' Campaign.

Here's how your gift can help:

US$ 100 purchases 25 family bed nets to help prevent malaria, a leading killer of mothers and children
US$ 1,000 trains 10 health workers in skills that save mothers' lives
US$ 5,000 supplies polio, TB, diphtheria and measles vaccinations to 700 children

In eastern Myanmar, one in five children die before their fifth birthday and mothers have a one in twelve lifetime chance of dying of pregnancy related causes. Community Partners International (CPI) and our local partners work to provide essential health services to mothers, babies and children in remote, underserved and conflict-affected regions.
