- WHY CARE ABOUT MYANMAR?
- WHO WE ARE
Community Partners International (CPI) celebrated Universal Health Coverage Day at the National Health Plan Forumlation Workshop in Naypyitaw, Myanmar on Monday December 12, 2016 in the company of colleagues from the Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports and peer organizations working in the health sector.
Myanmar has committed to achieving universal health coverage by 2030. At least 80% of expenditure on health care in Myanmar is 'out-of-pocket'. With millions living in poverty and close to the poverty line, too many families are at high risk of, or have experienced, catastophic health costs that cause and deepen poverty. That is why universal health coverage is such an important goal in Myanmar and CPI is dedicated to supporting efforts to achieve it.
On Universal Health Coverage Day we stand in solidarity with our peers worldwide in support of this noble ambition. It's right, smart, and due.
