Education for All
For many girls like Sriti Moni, 7, who grow up in the urban slums of Dhaka, education is out of reach. With their families unable to afford the costs, they are often forced to work or beg, and become vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. One in three children in Bangladesh do not complete secondary education and more than four million children are engaged in child labour, including hazardous work.
The Chakar School buses travel to slum communities in Dhaka to provide children between the ages of five and seven who are not attending regular school with basic education, a healthy meal, and health care. Run by Community Partners International partner, It’s Humanity Foundation, Chakar School helps children complete pre-primary education and integrate into formal education.
