Our Approach

Our Approach

Trust. Localize. Transform.

A Protracted Crisis and the Role of Local Organizations

Decades of conflict and instability have plunged Myanmar into poverty, triggering humanitarian crises and uprooting millions. Local organizations have long been at the forefront of service delivery because communities trust them. But they remain under-resourced, isolated and constrained by fragmented, top-down aid systems.

A Locally Led, Networked Approach to Health and Humanitarian Action

Community Partners International (CPI) believes in a balanced distribution of power in aid systems, centered on those closest to the challenges. We nurture mesh network health systems—a locally led, decentralized and resilient model that enables local organizations to lead, cooperate and deliver care even in the most fragile settings. We equip local organizations with tools and resources to sustain and scale health, well-being and humanitarian relief services. We build trust, connect peer organizations and advance practical, evidence-based policy and service delivery.

Proven Impact and a Long-Term Vision

Since 1998, we’ve equipped more than 140 local organizations to lead rescue, recovery and resilience in conflict- and poverty-affected communities. By 2035, we aim to weave 300 local organizations into coordinated networks serving more than 10 million people from Myanmar.

Mission, Vision and Values

Our Mission

Resilience sparks renewal — a future of health, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Our Vision

To enable rescue, recovery, and resilience in conflict- and poverty-affected communities by  equipping local organizations and fostering collective action.

Our Values

  • Trust: Essential to operating in sensitive environments, building strong systems, and maintaining the confidence of donors and communities alike. Trust is both a tool and a goal, countering fear and enabling cooperation.
  • Equity: Ensuring inclusive access and shifting power to those closest to the challenges. We measure impact through equity, prioritize programs that reach all, and advocate for equity with partners.
  • Agility: Adapting rapidly to maximize impact in unstable settings. Agility is not optional;
it is a prerequisite for stability.
  • Evidence: Turning data into action. We build resilient learning systems and share lessons for broader application.
  • Synergy: Harnessing the collective strength of diverse actors. Strong partnerships and networks multiply impact and resilience.
